Who
am I? My name is Greg Norman and I bought my first investment
property way back in 1994. I had always LOVED real estate, infact
I had a passion for it, but I didn't know squat!! I knew I wanted
to learn more about how to invest, but I had no idea where to
start. I found a great friend & mentor who gave me lots
of good advice and encouraged me, but I was really scared &
even skeptical- even though I really wanted to learn how to
do it all.
Even though I LOVED real estate, I was working as an engineer
to pay my bills. I just didn't think I could successfully do
the real esatate thing full time. But I kept learning, searching
for something to help me get going. Then I found it!!
In
1997, I gained "control" of a couple of great properties.
I
slowly started buying more and more, and eventually, I was able
to do my first "grand slam" deal. Ahhh
I remember
it like it was yesterday. I must have stared at that check for
3 days before I cashed it. Here's a copy of the check.

WOW!
At the time, it would take me over 3 years of working at
my job to get that kind of money....3 years!! It didn't
take long to do what I hope everyone gets to do someday
Tell your boss "I quit".
Since
then, I've been buying 1-3 homes a month and have bought over
$50,000,000.00 in real estate.
But
the truth is that if that "grand slam" deal had landed
in my lap when I first got started,I would not have had a clue
on how to handle it. I would have either screwed it up lost
my shirt!
Why?
Because I wouldn't have know how to
-
talk
to the seller
-
understand
the paperwork
-
known
a property's true value
-
had
a great attorney to close it
-
had
a reliable contractor that could fix it up
-
&
I wouldn't have had a clue on how to resell it profitablly
These are
all things that are ESSENTIAL to investing
successfully. Get any of them wrong and you could lose the
deal or lose your shirt!
